About the Item

We are delighted to offer for sale this stunning and important suite of six original Victorian Walnut Eton College captains chairs each one carved with EC in the back rest A substantial find, I have never seen one of these let alone a suite of six, perfect for a gentleman’s club or the perfect height for luxury dining chairs In terms of the condition they are circa 1860, hand carved from solid slabs of walnut, they have traces of the original varnish which has worn away over the decades to reveal the glorious timber patina. They have various small repairs here and there as you would expect Dimensions Height 78cm, seat height 41cm Width 58cm Depth 61cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point Eton college has been attended by some important people over the years to include Hugh Laurie, Prince William, Duke of Cambridge. ... Prince Harry, Duke of Sussex, Tom Hiddleston, Damian Lewis, Ian Fleming, and Adam Haldane-Duncan, 2nd Earl of Camperdown This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
