About the Item

Elegant Art Deco lounge set designed by Gyula Kaesz in the 1930s, consisting of a pair of armchairs and a matching side table. This exceptional ensemble features beautifully restored solid walnut frames, showcasing the designer’s signature curved lines, flowing forms, and refined proportions. The wooden structures have been restored. The armchairs have been newly reupholstered in a soft-touch velvet fabric, offering luxurious comfort and a sophisticated appearance. The sculptural bentwood armrests, graceful silhouettes, and harmonious proportions make this set a striking centerpiece in both modern and classic interiors. The matching round side table perfectly complements the chairs with its elegant Art Deco geometry and finely crafted walnut construction, creating a cohesive and timeless seating arrangement. Gyula Kaesz (1897–1967) was one of the most important Hungarian interior architects and designers of the 20th century, internationally recognized for his refined modernism and outstanding craftsmanship. A rare and highly collectible Hungarian Art Deco salon set. The listing includes the complete 3-piece set: two armchairs and one matching side table.
