About the Item

Danish Orange Oak Botium Lounge Chair by Magnus Olesen, 1970s. Beautifully crafted Scandinavian Mid-Century Modern oak lounge chair Model 6331 designed in 1975 by renowned Danish designers Rud Thygesen & Johnny Sørensen and produced by Botium/Magnus Olesen A/S, Denmark. This piece exemplifies the duo’s signature approach to Danish modernism—combining clean architectural lines, soft organic curves, and exceptional craftsmanship. The solid oak frame is light in tone and showcases the natural grain of the wood. Its sculptural armrests are a standout feature: gently curved with a subtle rolled front edge, they lend the chair both elegance and a touch of playfulness. The frame is sturdy and well-engineered, with refined joinery and minimal visible hardware, speaking to the durability and quality for which Danish furniture is celebrated. The chair retains its vibrant burnt-orange upholstered cushions, which are thick, supportive, and comfortable. The upholstery color adds warmth and character, creating a striking contrast with the blonde oak. The back cushion features a soft horizontal division that provides gentle lumbar support while maintaining a clean, minimalist look. Proportioned for comfort, the chair offers a wide seat and an inviting, slightly reclined posture—perfect for living rooms, reading corners, lounge areas, or design-focused interiors. Its silhouette is both timeless and distinctly modern, making it an excellent investment piece for collectors of Scandinavian furniture or anyone seeking high-quality, well-designed seating. A factory label on the underside confirms the chair’s origin, marked “Made in Denmark – Magnus Olesen A/S, Durup” and stamped with the Danish Furnituremakers Quality Control seal. Very good original condition with minimal signs of wear. Few small scratches.
