About the Item

Dutch Post-Modern lounge chair from the 1990s, fully upholstered in camel leather. The high, contoured back tapers toward the seat and broadens at the crown, giving the chair a sculptural presence. Integrated armrests curve outward from the body of the chair, widening the seating area without breaking the continuity of the leather shell. Visible center-seam stitching runs the length of the back, and short wood legs anchor the base at each corner. The design shares clear aesthetic kinship with the Leolux Balou chair attributed to Jane Worthington, a Dutch lounge chair of the same decade known for its enveloping organic form and upholstered volume. Leolux, founded in the Netherlands, built a reputation through the 1980s and 1990s for sculptural upholstered furniture that drew on Post-Modern sensibilities without relying on hard-edged geometry. This chair reflects that same approach: generous in scale, rounded in form, and unified through continuous leather upholstery. The chair has wear consistent with age and use.
