An exceptional pair of Czech Mid Century Modern bentwood lounge chairs, attributed to Kozelka & Kropáček, crafted in the 1940s and newly upholstered in luxurious Tibetan sheepskin in an elegant ecru tone. These sculptural lounge chairs are outstanding examples of Czech modernism, combining Mid-Century Modern design with subtle Art Deco influences and a strong organic modern aesthetic. The design is closely related to the work of Jindřich Halabala, making these pieces highly desirable among collectors and interior designers. The elegantly curved bentwood frames are executed in solid beech and display a rich, dark patina developed over time. The flowing armrests and rounded, low-slung proportions create a refined silhouette that is both architectural and inviting, showcasing the mastery of traditional Central European bentwood craftsmanship.
