About the Item

Incredibly handsome pair of chairs for dining, desk or occasional seating with dramatic Star Trek base and original black faux leather over internal fiberglas or ABS shell. According to our research these were designed as a special private commission by the President of Air France in 1958 for their new Executive Boardroom. This chair marked the point of stylistic transition for Adnet and personified his vision for the second half of the 20th century. They may even have been the inspiration for the Concorde! It is possible to attach the base pointing forward or backward. Shown here both ways. See image 19 as illustration of the option to convert one of the chairs into an ottoman. It MAY be possible to attach a swivel mechanisms.. Sold as a pair.
