About the Item

Kembo's Ultrex series loveseats feature tubular chrome frames with a continuous bent profile that forms both the legs and armrests in a single clean arc. The structural seat pan is finished in black enamel, providing a strong visual contrast against the polished chrome. Seat and back cushions are upholstered in woven fabric with horizontal channel stitching and sit within the frame as discrete units. Four loveseats are available: two in dark navy blue upholstery and two in medium light blue upholstery. Kembo was a Dutch manufacturer active from the postwar period through the 1970s, producing contract and residential furniture with a strong commitment to industrial materials and rational construction. The Ultrex series reflects the broader Dutch approach to Mid-Century Modern design — clean geometry, honest material use, and a preference for tubular metal over ornament. The new seat covers indicate the upholstery has been refreshed at some point, while the frames retain their original character. Loveseat is in original condition with some visible wear, all consistent with its age and use. Two available. Sold individually and condition may vary.
