About the Item

This is our traditionally made solid oak 'Captains' chair made right here in Yorkshire by our fabulous carpenter Richard. The design is inspired by an original early 19th century example we found. We wanted this chair to be a go too seat for your home. Be it as a desk chair or as part of a set around a dining table. The whole piece has been hand shaped to create as authentic feel as we can. These chairs were never meant to be perfect so we wanted to keep the character and folkyness you get from an original. We hope this becomes a life long addition to your home and it will take on more character and charm from years of use. Made from American Red oak for its durability and strong grain. Finished in a clear oil to protect the table against moisture. Height 74cm Width 63cm Depth 54cm Depth of seat 40cm Height of seat 42cm Lead time 4-6 weeks Available in different finishes.
