The Furoco Pouf is a sculptural, multifunctional seat created as a custom project and now part of our limited-edition collection. Its name combines furoshiki—the Japanese art of folding—with commoda, a Latin expression that indicates measured, expertly crafted practicality.
The rounded-edge base is covered in SPLOT®, the exclusive patented process by designer Svetlana Golubeva that weaves reclaimed industrial aluminum. The weave, available in shades of ochre, pink, and blue, is topped with a soft mint green cushion. Rising from the rear is a gold-colored metal plate shaped with a deliberate, functional fold, designed to serve as a low backrest, a handle for moving the chair, and a valet stand for ties, sweaters, or shirts.
Designed to enhance a walk-in closet, bedroom, or dressing area, the Furoco pouf offers an elegant place to put on shoes or rest for a moment, combining tailored comfort with collectible design.
Svetlana Golubeva was born in Moscow, where she cultivated her defining aesthetic philosophy early on: the art of dual perception. Where others saw remnants, she discovered a subtle invitation to reimagine. From childhood, assembling discarded materials became a profound creative ritual, revealing that raw matter holds a second life for those with the patience to listen to its story.
Her academic trajectory gracefully bridged structural engineering, fine art, design, and architecture. This multidisciplinary background enables Svetlana to marry technical rigor with conceptual depth, imbuing each creation with a hidden code — an indelible link to memory and heritage that mass production can never replicate.
Upon establishing herself in Italy, Svetlana immersed herself in the world of haute craftsmanship, unlocking an extraordinary spectrum of expressive possibilities. She began experimenting with salvaged metals, treating them not as inert elements, but as living, evolving media.
This creative shift was a seamless continuation of her roots. Raised in a minimalist context where creativity was the ultimate response to scarcity, she developed an innate reverence for the latent beauty in forgotten elements. Vast quantities of aluminum, timber, leather, and textiles destined for disposal revealed themselves to her as precious resources awaiting a high-design rebirth.
This intuition ignited an unrelenting quest for circular luxury, culminating in the inception of SPLOT®.
SPLOT® is a signature material born from industrial aluminum salvaged and meticulously hand-woven in Italy by master artisans. Every piece crafted in SPLOT® becomes an intimate dialogue between the artisan who shapes it and the collector who welcomes it into their life.
Svetlana’s ambition transcends mere recycling; it is an exercise in noble transmutation. By giving birth to striking new forms, she restores dignity and purpose to what was once discarded, transforming raw matter into timeless narrative.
