About the Item

A Victorian period box-shaped ottoman. The sides are upholstered in an old (and possibly original) burgundy-colored velvet above a wooden molding that has been grain-painted to simulate rosewood. The upholstered-over seat is recently re-covered in a discontinued woven fabric and is hinged to reveal a fabric-7500lined storage area inside. The interior is also newly upholstered. Raised on later brass casters which are hidden by the wooden molding.
