About the Item

Seven-piece modular sectional sofa in the COR style, upholstered in the original green velvet. The configuration includes two arm pieces at 29.5 inches wide, two single units at 24.75 inches wide, one single at 31.75 inches, and one corner unit at 31.75 inches; depth throughout is 31.75 inches. As currently arranged, the sofa measures four units across and three units deep. The silhouette is low and fully rectilinear, with squared seat and back cushions and a plinth-style base that keeps the profile close to the floor. Seaming is minimal and the modular units align cleanly. COR Sitzmöbel, founded in Germany in 1954, built its reputation on modular and sectional seating that prioritized flexible, generous forms suited to open-plan living. Sofas in this configuration reflect the late 1960s and 1970s shift toward low-slung, modular living room furniture. The blocky geometric construction and flush base are consistent with that period of European modernism. The sofa is in original condition with some age appropriate signs of wear, use and fading.
