About the Item

Very rare ‘Life’ sofa in very good condition Designed by Roberto Monsani in 1975 and manufactured by Acerbis in Italy. When imagining new ways of living, Monsani envisioned furniture that could reshape the home. The Life sofa is a striking result of that vision. So avant-garde that it was never mass-produced at the time, the design still feels remarkably modern today. The sofa features its distinctive acrylic structure, which gives the piece its iconic and architectural appearance. The generous cushions have been reupholstered in a high-quality, rich velvet fabric, adding a luxurious look and feel. Designed for relaxed, informal lounging, the soft cushions provide exceptional comfort, while the rounded shapes enhance the sofa’s inviting character. Configuration: Two 2-seater elements (180 cm) One ottoman (90 cm) A rare and sculptural modular sofa that perfectly reflects the experimental spirit of 1970s Italian design. Roberto Monsani is an Italian designer associated with the experimental design movement of the 1960s and 1970s. His work focused on rethinking the home through modular, flexible furniture and innovative materials. One of his notable concepts is the Life sofa (1975), a forward-thinking design that was never mass-produced at the time but later gained renewed attention for its contemporary vision. Monsani’s designs emphasize relaxed living, adaptability, and a modern approach to interior space. Acerbis is an Italian design furniture company founded in 1870 in Bergamo, Italy. Known for its innovative approach and high-quality craftsmanship, the brand became especially influential during the radical design era of the 1960s and 1970s. Collaborating with notable designers, Acerbis developed forward-thinking furniture that combined technology, experimentation, and refined Italian aesthetics. Today, the company continues to produce contemporary pieces while also reintroducing iconic designs from its archive We offer a variety of insured shipping services, ask us for the possibilities and competitive pricing.
