This is a very large fantastic English antique early Victorian walnut and leather framed conversation seat, also known as a "Sociable Settee", which dates from Circa 1850.
It is of quatrefoil outline with four divisions, the deep button backs and seats, raised on a foliate carved apron and cabochon clasped cabriole legs, terminating in scroll feet.
In Victorian times conversation sofas were usually placed in the middle of the room for ladies who could freely engage in conversation with other guests.
