About the Item

1930s French Art Deco side chairs, sourced in Provence, France. The pair features distinctive sculpted mustache-back panels in beautifully figured walnut, supported by solid oak frames with slender tapered legs and gently curved rear supports. The broad walnut backrests are shaped with softly undulating upper and lower edges, emphasizing the natural movement and tonal variation of the figured grain. Their restrained geometry and sculptural profile are characteristic of French Art Deco design of the period. The seats are upholstered in golden yellow velvet and finished with individual brass nailhead trim, creating a warm contrast against the rich tones of the oak and walnut. Structurally restored, the chairs are solid and stable. The wood has been cleaned and polished with wax, retaining the natural character and patina of the period.
