About the Item

This rare pair of sculptural timber chairs, attributed to Italian designer Cesare Leonardi, reflects a bold shift in material and form during the 1980s. Responding to the decline of fiberglass, Leonardi began working with simple construction materials—namely, yellow formwork boards—transforming them into experimental furnishings under the Solidi series. These chairs embody that philosophy: raw yet refined, modular yet sculptural, they explore infinite variations from a single elemental form. With their raw elegance and striking geometry, the chairs suit a range of interiors, from minimalist and wabi-sabi to brutalist and modernist spaces. Ideal for collectors or design-forward homes, they stand as quiet yet powerful statements of form and philosophy. Check out Daddy Deco's storefront for more architectural, sculptural and mid-century collectible design pieces.
