About the Item

Pair of Eastlake-style antique side chairs upholstered in Black Edition Tiano Gunmetal velvet, The Caligo Twins from the Vesperline Collection, embody symmetry, restraint, and modern contrast. Crafted at the turn of the 20th century, their upright silhouettes reflect Eastlake influence: architectural in line, quietly ornamental, and intentionally disciplined. Crest rails bear shallow incised carving, while turned front legs on casters balance squared back legs with composure. Each chair is reimagined in Tiano Gunmetal, a jacquard velvet woven with metallic threads in graphite, slate, bronze, and muted gold. At once neutral and layered, the textile shimmers with movement and depth. Light refinishing preserves original patina while enhancing tone. Sourced in Oxnard, California, this pair offers mirrored presence, tailored clarity, and enduring versatility.
