About the Item

A fantastic 1950s sofa by Italian designer Gastone Rinaldi. This striking piece features a refined brushed steel frame with generous upholstered cushioning, newly covered in the Anni Albers Collection “Black Mountain Indigo Weave” fabric by Christopher Farr Cloth. The contrast between the clean, architectural steel structure and the richly textured woven upholstery gives the sofa a sophisticated and highly decorative presence. Gastone Rinaldi was an important figure in post-war Italian furniture design, known for his elegant metal-framed furniture and his work with RIMA. His designs often combine technical precision with lightness of form, creating pieces that feel both refined and modern. This sofa is a wonderful example of that approach, with strong lines, generous proportions and a beautifully balanced silhouette. The indigo weave upholstery adds depth and warmth, making it a highly versatile piece for both contemporary and classic interiors. Dimensions: H76 x W195 x D87 cm
