About the Item

A Mid-Century Modern style sofa attributed to Claudio Vagnoni, dating from the 1970s. . More than just a sofa, it's a design piece with enveloping curves. . A true signature piece, it stands out for its sculptural aesthetic and immediate architectural presence. Its perfectly executed minimalist lines are softened by superb, continuous curves that create an organic, elegant, and timeless silhouette. . The use of volume is remarkable: the rounded, generous, and fluid armrests envelop the seat in an almost monolithic form, like a designer object. The whole evokes a collector's item, conceived as a functional sculpture, while maintaining a refined simplicity. . The sofa has been completely reupholstered in a new fabric, in a luminous beige/ecru shade, creating a particularly chic and contemporary look (the color variations in the photos are due to lighting). The fabric provides a subtle, warm, and high-end texture, ideal for highlighting the curves and proportions. A perfect balance between design and comfort. The seat is wide, inviting, and structured, offering everyday comfort while maintaining a taut and elegant line. This sofa integrates naturally into a contemporary, minimalist, or architecturally designed interior, and complements both noble materials (travertine, wood, brushed metal) and a more streamlined decor. A rare piece with a strong design, created for those seeking a sofa that is both beautiful and timeless.

Giovanni Offerdi ITALIAN, 1927-2007 About his mid-century modern furniture designs, which marry minimalist simplicity with elegance and symmetry, Italian designer Giovanni Offredi once said, "Beauty should not be confused with appearance, for the latter is the superficial part of the form". Born in Milan in 1927, Offredi was not trained as an architect, unlike many of his contemporaries in the first half of the 20th century. He also didn't start designing furniture until later in his career. Its first known pieces of furniture were commissioned by wealthy Milanese families in 1960. It was not until the late 1960s - when Mr. Offredi met Sergio Saporiti, owner of Italian furniture manufacturer and design store Saporiti - that his furniture designs have become more prominent. In 1970, Offredi joined forces with Saporiti and produced several lines of innovative and modernist furniture. Among the most outstanding pieces by Offredi are the Wave chair, sofa and chaise longue, with its soft curves, the Onda coffee...
