About the Item

An all solid wood sofa with leather upholstery and integrated side tables made by American designer and maker, Greg Palombo. Like all pieces from Greg Palombo, this sofa was designed to be timeless and built to last generations. The wood's deep red tone of the solid sapele frame is long, low and elegant. It stands on two legs which elevates it off the ground giving it a sense of levity. The frame also diminishes in proportions and the layers get higher, which further emphasizing this feeling. The diminishing proportions reference the tiers on a temple or pyramid giving a sense of something ceremonial or sacred. The sofa has two built in side tables that flank the seat. The seat cushions tuck under the side tables giving the couches anatomy great unity and consideration. While this is a very aesthetic feature, the side table adds a great level of function, much like a mid-century Adrian Pearsall sofa. The upholstery is done in top grain black leather, another beautiful natural materials that will age and patina gracefully. This piece is all about style and comfort and leaves no element unconsidered. As the Greg Palombo shop likes to say, "They've never made them like this before."
