Black Stool 01 by Iranzo Dimensions: D 68 x H 48 cm. Material: Epoxy resin & polypropylene Also available in: White - at the same price Light pink / Blue / Pastel green / Signal yellow - at a higher price What remains when something no longer exists, but still endures in memory? Permanent Souls is a collection that explores what endures when something ceases to exist but continues to live on through memory. Memory does not preserve objects or spaces as they once were. What remains is a combination of sensations, gestures, and bodily relationships: a scale, a posture, a way of sitting or touching. Over time, the image becomes incomplete, blurred, and it is in that void where memory continues to reside. The reflection behind Permanent Souls arises from this kind of fragmented memory: from what once was and will not return, yet continues to occupy an inner space. This collection emerges from this condition. WIt is not a closed or definitive shape, but a minimal structure that suggests more than it asserts. Its form, light and suspended, speaks of what remained without being fixed, like a presence that does not impose itself and leaves room for interpretation. An object that does not reconstruct the past, but allows it to breathe. Working with a single piece of discarded net, sourced from sports and construction contexts, Iranzo draws the volume of the pieces through tension rather than mass. The object is not constructed in a conventional sense: it is outlined, suspended, and held in the air, allowing the void to become an active material. Light and permeable, the piece exists on the threshold between the visible and the invisible. Balanced between the oneiric and the real, these pieces resists a fixed reading. It suggests function without imposing it, inviting the body, the gaze, and the imagination to complete it. Iranzo explores memory as form, void, and suspension. Its practice moves between the oneiric and the real, between what barely holds and what invites to be held. He uses discarded nets —from sports and construction contexts— as raw material to create functional sculptures that inhabit the threshold between the visible and the invisible. These pieces, light and permeable, stretch the boundary between utility and imagination: they suggest a function, but never impose it; they remain open to interpretation, to play, to the movement of the body and the gaze. Iranzo’s first project is titled Permanent souls, and it poses a question with no clear answer: What remains when something no longer exists, but still endures in memory? Iranzo is also the co-founder and creative director of Clap Studio, a design studio focused on interior design, product development and artistic installations. The studio has received international recognition, including the National Design Award (Spain) in 2023, and was named by Forbes in 2020 as one of the best creative agencies. It has also been awarded distinctions such as the German Design Award, the Frame Awards, among others.
