About the Item

Contemporary Ceramic Stool Fétiche Baby by Hervé Langlais. Available in different colors. Hervé Langlais is a graduate of the Normandy School of Architecture in Rouen. He collaborated with Paul Andreu for over fifteen years, working on the National Grand Theater of China in Beijing and the Oriental Art Center in Shanghai. In parallel to his work with Andreu, Langlais’ personal projects led him to design interiors for private homes. While designing for a number of studios, Langlais founded his own design studio in 2006, loyal to his guiding principles of combining precision and purity of design with high quality materials. Since 2012, he has been working in close collaboration with Sophie Negropontes, designing a yearly collection of luminaires and furniture. Langlais has also created Galerie Negropontes’ unique stands for trade fairs in France and abroad. Hervé Langlais’ creations are in keeping with the French Decorative Arts, renewing a tradition of excellence in which luxury and modernity come together. *Measurements may vary slightly. Assento Stool by Macheia

Assento Stool by Macheia

Located in Geneve, CH

Assento Stool by Macheia Handmade In Portugal. Dimensions: D 55 x W 75 x H 40 cm. Materials: Natural dried bulrush and galvanized iron. Inspired by Tanho, the most iconic piece of the Bunho technique, Assento is a hybrid between a sitting stool and a side table. The bulrush spiral extends into a metal arc that embraces the wheel into the metal structure. The low seat’s organic shape represents a release from the spiraling motion of the wheel. The Collection zooms in the Bunho technique - a unique portuguese basketry technique that shapes the natural fiber Bulrush (Schoenoplectrus Palla), into a intricate mesh of knots and stitches. Nowadays, the Bunho technique is kept by the hands and know-how of only two artisans in Europe, One of them is Manuel Ferreira...

A Stool by Jaclyn Pappalardo Dimensions: W 53 x D 41 x H 43 cm Materials: Mild steel. Jaclyn is a designer and maker based in London. Her background in set design informs her creative work as a designer. Colour and texture play an important role in developing each and every project. With a particular interest in the use of seating, Jaclyn looks at chairs not only as a functional object but rather as a study of body, shape and language. Her work incorporates unconventional design techniques that stretch far from traditional craftsmanship. Exploring new techniques and material driven processes such as metal forming and non-traditional upholstery, she builds on similar profiles and repetitive patterns in the aim of creating something timeless. Jaclyn’s work has been published in Arcipelago, Modern House, Dezeen, Vogue and Luncheon magazine. Represented by The Radford Gallery & Fels World gallery in London UK.
