About the Item

"Plopp" stool by Zieta, Rubin Red Heat collection. Standard size: 50 cm high, 35 cm diameter. Unique piece. “Plopp” stool copper version is a stool designed by Zieta Studio which is a Polish design agency founded by well-known designer Oskar Zieta. Ruby red in the center and dark, almost black at the edges – the Red Rubin mirrors refer to the colour of the planet Mars and to one of the most precious cardinal gemstones on the planet Earth, the blood-red coloured ruby. Mirrors in this extravagant and noble colour are gems in their own terms. The mixture of organic shapes with the mineral corundum’s colour gives them a look of giant stones manufactured out of a pure joy of looking at them and the mysterious reflections they create. Zieta is best known for his collection of stools “Plopp” made through the technologist FIDU. These stools appear to be almost soft and seem to be made of foldable or even wrinkled material. In fact, these Plopp stools are metal. Two laser-cut metal sheets are first welded together before air is injected between them until they separate from each other forming a three-dimensional object.
