About the Item

A French iron bar stool from the 1940s. Forged in iron, the frame is defined by a series of twisted supports that rise in a gentle taper, creating a silhouette that is light in appearance yet firmly grounded. Delicate scroll details animate the central structure, introducing a sense of movement and craftsmanship without overwhelming the form. The iron retains the character of handwork, with subtle variations that reveal the maker’s touch. The circular seat is upholstered in warm-toned linen fabric, offering a soft contrast to the darkened iron below. Its restrained profile allows the geometry of the base to remain the focal point, while providing a practical and durable surface suited to everyday use. A twisted stretcher ring reinforces the structure and serves as a natural footrest, enhancing both comfort and stability. At a kitchen counter, it introduces texture and warmth. Used individually, it functions as an accent; gathered in a group, it creates rhythm and cohesion within a room. Condition: Very good vintage condition. The hand-forged iron frame shows oxidation and minor surface irregularities consistent with age. This stool has been freshly reupholstered by our team of restorationists in a warm-toned linen fabric with new foam.
