About the Item

The stool from the SoShiro Pok collection is hand-carved in Italy from solid oak, finished in turtle dove grey, and embellished with inlaid polished-marble gems. This ergonomic wooden 3-legged stool has an elegant upward curve with a gracefully rounded shape and edges that beautifully present the coloured-marble gems. The carved opening serves as a handle for easy mobility. The Pok collection celebrates the artistry of hand-crafted beadwork made by the Pokot women in Northwest Kenya. Shiro Muchiri, the designer, combines their artistic cultural heritage with contemporary design. Influenced by the traditional Pokot stool, this piece can also be used as an end table. The grey colour reflects the arid climate of the Pokot habitat, and the marbles are inspired by the complex and vibrant beadwork. Dimensions: L 50cm W 50cm H 54cm (19.75in x 19.75in x 21.25in).
