About the Item

A pair of English upholstered stools dating to the late 19th century, each featuring a square cushioned seat raised on four slender turned mahogany legs. The legs are ornamented with restrained ring turnings and terminate in small rounded feet, giving the stools a light and elegant profile. The seats have been newly upholstered in a neutral oatmeal-colored linen-blend fabric that complements the warm brown tones of the wood. A continuous row of individually applied antiqued brass nailheads outlines the lower edge of each seat, providing a tailored finish and subtle decorative contrast. Compact and versatile, these antique English stools could be placed beneath a console table, used as occasional seating in a living room or bedroom, or positioned together at the foot of a bed. Their simple form allows them to work comfortably in traditional, transitional or more contemporary interiors. The stools retain the character and minor irregularities expected from their age, while the fresh neutral upholstery makes them immediately usable.
