Rose loop chair by Sebastian Scherer Dimensions: D57 x w40 x H80 cm Material: Aluminium. Weight: 5.1 kg. Raw aluminium (no coating) The Loop series is characterized by its elegant and futuristic design language. The soft, yet geometric lines have a Scandinavian design reference, but also reminiscent of metal furniture of the Bauhaus era. All furniture in the series follow the same design principle. The only 6 mm thin aluminum frame is cut from a metal sheet and then bent. This gives it its stability and forms its characteristic, loop-like silhouette. This consistent design principle and craftsmanship make the Loop series so unique. Small embedded plastic gliders are discreetly integrated in the frame without disturbing the overall impression. The NEO/CRAFT label was founded by the Berlin-based designer Sebastian Scherer after he won the Lexus Design Award 2014 for his Iris lamp (2013). The debut collection, which consisted of ten products, was first presented at the imm cologne in January 2015 in what Wallpaper Magazine described as “one of the most impressive debuts in 2015.” Exhibitions at trade fairs in Milan and London followed this same year. Since then, Sebastian Scherer has worked as a designer and creative director in equal measure. The collection consists of his designs, but these can also undergo further development in the future through the input of other designers. The central element in his developmental process is the continual search for new creative possibilities with classical materials such as aluminum, steel, glass and wood.
