Rare Vintage Late 1980's Early 1990's Sandler Seating Chrome Upholstered Architectural Curved Bar Stools - Set of 2 A pair of beautifully designed bar stools likely designed for the upscale restaurant or hospitality sector. Circa late 1980s - early 1990s. European design. Each piece is comprised of a chrome plated metal frame and exaggerated curved legs. Design mimics a cantilever style construction through an illusion of unbalanced proportions. Rounded seats are comprised of a synthetic textured leather-like material, hardy and easy for cleaning. Each stool is outfitted with a curved foot rest and foot caps. Please refer to photos as it appears that 2 caps were replaced on each stool. This pair would be ideal for a finished bar or smaller kitchen island. The architecture is especially appreciated when viewing the stools from the side and at an angle. Sandler Seating was founded in London in 1982 by Roy Sandler. This was a branch-off of a family business, Sandler Upholsterers; specializing in custom upholstery since 1946. In 1989 Sandler Seating began to distribute European/Italian designed furniture for the restaurant, hospitality and contract markets and soon became a leading player in the UK contract furniture market. In 1996, a sister company, Sandler Seating Inc., was established in Atlanta, GA to service the US contract furniture market. Measurements: Close approximate measurements noted below. Height: 31" (from base to very top of seat cushion) Diameter of Seat: 13.75" (taken across seat from one end to the other) Weight: Close approximate weights noted below. Stool #1: 10lbs 11oz Stool #2: 10lbs 15oz Condition: Signs of wear to chrome metal frame inclusive of scratches, tiny divots, and small amounts of rusting due to age. The reflective properties of the chrome finish detract from noticing the signs of use. There are a handful of imperfections/cuts to the upholstery tops, mostly at sides. Missing one screw at underside of one seat cushion. Due to age of foot caps, may not sit perfectly flush against floor; more so on one foot with one of the stools. Truly unique and one-of-a-kind driftwood coffee center table with planter inserts. Nature surely delivers some beautiful artwork, such as this sculpted wood base. The shape mimics that of two separate tree trunks with their entangled root bases. The strong base is realized with a 3/8 inch oval shaped glass top, customized with planter inserts which are fixed into each of the tree trunk stems. The planter inserts have metal spikes at the bottom to allow for secured placement of faux plants. Spike plates can be removed. You have the option to add a small pot or vase within both planter openings, or plant into the customized metal pots directly. Glass can be removed by lifting upward, in which metal pots are lifted and removed as well. Metal pots are what keep the glass secure to the driftwood base.
