About the Item

Handcrafted in Morocco, the TAMT series pays homage to the art of weaving — a practice shared across cultures, reinterpreted here with Amazigh roots. Each piece combines a graphic brass frame with a handwoven leather seat, created using strips of vegetable-tanned leather. The weaving technique — a basket-like over-under structure — is executed entirely by hand, evoking ancestral saddle-work, while offering strength, elasticity, and visual texture. Available as stools and benches in a range of natural and dyed leathers, TAMT balances the warmth of artisanal Moroccan leatherwork with the clean geometry of minimal design. ------------------------ We’re an exhibition space and an online destination established by the passionate art director behind Jonathan Amar design studio. His gallery presents a harmonious mix of iconic and engaging 20th-century pieces and bespoke contemporary designs. With a strong focus on Italian mid-century modern, his success strives from sourcing objects with striking shapes, intricate techniques, and quality materials that cross the concept of time in the same way a Spirit does.  Jonathan Amar being of French and Moroccan origin, the gallery is split between a small space in Paris and its headquarters in Rabat where the magical restoration work takes place. All our pieces are expertly restored at our atelier and we only offer items that will last another lifetime. Our workspace includes a luminous gallery, a restoration atelier where our team of experts in metalwork, woodwork, upholstery, and electrics; restore each piece with the mission to honor a balance between restoration and preservation. There may be natural light age-related wear but never any hard damages or structural issues.  Since the launch of our gallery in late 2017, we have exported over 1100 items to buyers in 21 countries located in all four corners of the world from Europe and North America to Asia and Australia. In the United States alone, we have ensured the delivery of over 650 pieces of all sizes (from big dining tables to small decorative objects) in 23 states. We take the utmost attention to our packaging by building robust made-to-measure boxes in our atelier with the aim of providing safe and cost-effective delivery prices for every client. Most deliveries arrive smoothly in less than 8 days. FYI the Morocco Free Trade Agreement (MAFTA) went into effect on January 1, 2006.
