About the Item

Crafted in Italy circa 1750, this impressive antique walnut cassone offers both architectural presence and practical storage. The rectangular coffer showcases a richly carved façade composed of paneled sections with arched motifs framed by stylized foliage and geometric borders, reflecting the bold architectural character of the Italian Baroque period. The hinged plank top opens to reveal a spacious interior compartment designed for storing linens, blankets, or household items. The chest rests on sturdy bracket feet that give the piece a grounded, balanced stance.
