About the Item

Biedermeier bookcase veneered in cherrywood with ebonized columns and moldings. The cabinet stands on slightly curved S-shaped legs and is glazed over approximately three quarters of its height. The lower section features a square panel with a star-shaped burl veneer inlay. The escutcheons are ebonized and shield-shaped. The piece is crowned by a triangular pediment with a molded cornice. The capitals and bases of the flanking columns are gilt. The interior is fitted with three fixed shelves. Carefully restored and hand-polished.
