About the Item

A striking and highly original mid 18th century mahogany bookcase, richly figured and excellent proportion. The moulded cornice above a pair of panelled doors that open to three removable shelves, the base has conforming panelled doors, central partition with adjustable shelves to both sides, raised on a plinth base with inset lignum vitae castor, brass carrying and turning handles to both sides, working locks with keys.
