We are delighted to offer for sale this exceptionally large and grand Victorian hand-carved mahogany display bookcase This bookcase is one of the most spectacular pieces of furniture I have ever seen, the carving to the top is simply exquisite, the crown and floral reefs are hand chiselled out of one solid piece of wood, the fretwork above is separate and can be removed You can fit an entire library in this piece, the shelves are all removable, we have deep cleaned hand condition waxed and hand polished it from top to bottom, apart from normal patina marks from honest age and use the piece is lovely condition throughout, it even has glass panels to the side so should you use it for display pieces as opposed to books you can see the items from the side and light pulls in nicely as well Dimensions: Height:- 298cm, top section alone 177cm, bottom section 121cm Width:- 133.5cm Depth:- 66cm Please note all measurements are taken at the widest point This item is available for collection from our Wimbledon warehouses. Condition: Please view the very detailed pictures as they form part of the description around condition Please note vintage period and original items such as leather seating will always have natural patina in the form of cracking creasing and wear, we recommend regular waxing to ensure no moisture is lost, also hand dyed leather is not recommended to sit in direct sunlight for prolonged periods of time as it will dry out and fade.
