About the Item

A very large transitional-style sideboard in marquetry with a trellis pattern enclosing quatrefoils and featuring rich gilt and chased bronze ornamentation. Beautiful white marble top, six doors and five drawers in the front. This model is inspired by a Jean-Henri Riesener (1734-1806) commode, who became a Master in 1768 and was the cabinetmaker of the Crown. Exceptional piece for a prestigious residence. Oak frame, very high quality craftsmanship. Stamped with a crowned "CL" mark, Parisian work, mid-20th century, commissioned for a prestigious embassy in Paris. Very good condition
