About the Item

An elegant antique display cabinet with drawers, crafted in solid mahogany in the late 19th to early 20th century. This refined piece combines the practicality of a chest of drawers with the sophistication of a glazed display cabinet, making it a versatile addition to both traditional and eclectic interiors. The upper section features a single glazed door framed by beautifully hand-carved Gothic-inspired tracery, flanked by decorative carved pilasters with Ionic capitals and intricate floral motifs. A substantial molded cornice crowns the cabinet, highlighted by an impressive carved eagle crest that adds a distinguished architectural presence. Inside, the cabinet offers shelving ideal for displaying books, porcelain, glassware, or decorative objects. The lower section comprises four spacious drawers fitted with original brass drop handles and escutcheons, providing generous concealed storage. The cabinet stands on elegant cabriole legs joined by a carved apron, giving the piece a graceful silhouette while maintaining excellent stability. Professionally restored and finished with a natural wax, the mahogany displays a rich, warm patina that enhances the depth and beauty of the wood grain. Both decorative and functional, this striking cabinet is a superb statement piece for a living room, library, dining room, or study, reflecting exceptional craftsmanship and timeless European design.
