About the Item

A handsome and most unique pair of Continental 19th century Neo-Classical st. ebony, ash wood, ormolu and Portoro marble cabinets. Each cabinet is raised by a straight base with elegant cut corners. Leading up each side are impressive decorative tapered columns with striking ormolu bands framing fitted ash wood bands with charming feet at the base and beautiful richly carved caryatids above. At the centers, each door is decorated with superb fitted ash wood panels showcasing the stunning wood grains with rounded corners, fine mottled circular ormolu reserves and central ormolu bands. The doors open to reveal one adjustable shelf and all original hardware. Each side panel is decorated in the same manner as the front. Above are the striking original Portoro marble tops with fine mottled borders.
