The project reinterprets the traditional sideboard through a refined balance of innovative materials, clean architectural lines, and functional design details. The structure is composed of lacquered MDF panels forming the sides, back, and internal shelves, creating a compact and well-defined volume. Elevated on slender anodized aluminum legs, the cabinet achieves a light and contemporary presence while ensuring stability and durability. A distinctive element of the Tacito collection is its door system. The doors are made from pressed recycled polyester felt, produced using the same technology developed for acoustic panels. During the manufacturing process, the material is entirely covered with fabric on both the exterior and interior surfaces, resulting in a soft and tactile finish that also provides sound-absorbing qualities, improving acoustic comfort in interior spaces. The innovation of the design lies in the hinge concept. Instead of conventional metal hinges, Tacito integrates a textile hinge positioned at the center of the cabinet, allowing the doors to open smoothly while preserving the purity of the design. Hidden magnets embedded within the cabinet profile ensure a precise and secure closure. A continuous handle frames the perimeter of each door and integrates into the chamfered profile of the cabinet, enabling comfortable opening from any point and reinforcing the clean visual geometry of the piece. The result is a storage unit that combines material research, technical innovation, and minimalist design, reflecting Magis' approach to contemporary furniture through intelligent and understated solutions.
