This is a tall antique display cabinet. An English, rosewood and inlaid brass glazed bookcase on stand, dating to the Regency period, circa 1820. Striking domed top and of a superior level of finish and material use Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order throughout Select stocks present exceptional figuring and rich caramel hues Cabinet set upon a delightful display base, removable for ease of placement Domed crown hosts an inlaid brass foliate wreath, whilst dentil moulding accentuates the edge Brass inlays and dentil moulding further used for decorative interest Tall glazed door presents a clear, bright view of the three shelf interior Dressed to the side with an inset, working lock for an elegant finish — key present Each shelf fixed at a useful height of 27.5cm (10.75''), whilst a depth of 25.5cm is ideal for larger volumes Exceptional front legs to the support stand, with scrolled motif and brass foliate inlay Sash aprons add a serpentine visual motif to the front and sides Gently tapering rear legs complete the stand, whilst the rear of the cabinet is panelled This is a delightful antique display cabinet, offering a tall profile and a beautiful presentation space , with excellent material use and fine craftsmanship.
