About the Item

The Rococo period is one of the most romantic periods in furniture design. This beauty originated in Sweden where they carved in a curved serpentine motion as did the French. The paint has been refreshed over what was reddish. You can see hints of the brick red underneath. It's dovetailed and pegged all over. Also the fabric and paper that were once inside have been removed as has the original hardware. The locks are there but you can see in the front where the holes are larger where they must have had to replace them. The keys are no longer with the chest. The color is bluish grey with soft white plaster showing underneath.
