About the Item

A gorgeous 19th century Dutch mahogany chest of drawers–seven drawers to be exact–like a rather large semainier with spellbinding grain that is perfectly matched down the drawer fronts. The top surface is outlined by a line of inlay to appear as dentil molding that is actually satinwood alternating with the dark mahogany, accentuating the chamfered corners. Seven wide drawers feel cohesive and expansive; they all use the same ring pull hardware decorated with a garden urn motif (no key is present for the locks). Cleaned and polished with a French paste wax to glide easily, ready for your interior. Some evidence of repairs to the corners of the top; minor splitting on the side planks which appear to be stable otherwise we believe this to be in good antique condition considering the age, and any visible signs of wear are captured in the photos. Please view the detailed image gallery for the current condition or reach out with any questions.
