About the Item

Louis XVI chest of drawers hand-made in France in the late 1700s using walnut and pegged construction. The chest of drawers features three large overlay drawers with ogee edges and beautiful floral carvings on the front. All drawers show beautiful, large, hand-made dovetail joints. The sides are made of chamfered inset panels framed in flat molding whereas the top features three boards with ogee edges nailed to the case. The apron is scalloped and also decorated with floral carvings. Vertical fluting on the front corners also adds more depth and texture to the piece. Overall this is a beautiful, antique piece that has fantastic character and warmth. The deep milk chocolate color make it perfect for a room that is wanting some depth. The overall lines of the piece and the carvings give it an elegant and rustic look, therefore this piece will look absolutely stunning in a ranch house or country home.
