This is a large antique bow front chest of drawers. An American, flame and oak 4 drawer bedroom chest, dating to the mid Victorian period, circa 1860. Beautifully presented example of fine American craftsmanship Displays a desirable aged patina and in good order Select flame stocks show superior grain interest Bountiful warm caramel hues beam beneath a wax polish finish Attractive bow front form, arranged as four graduated drawers Each resplendent with superb flame fascia over quality oak drawer boxes Dressed with late oval brass pulls and inset locks — keys absent Maker's mark to the upper drawer, with a Double J inside a circle Likely the mark of Johann Michael Jahn (1816 - 18883), who emigrated to America in 1844 Standing upon distinctive front legs, with a pair of square section legs to the rear This is a grand antique bow front chest of drawers, sure to grace any bedroom with its fine grain interest and rich colour. Solid joints and construction, delivered ready for the home.
