About the Item

Comò d'epoca neoclassica, fine '700. Realizzato in noce presenta sul fronte tre cassetti, uno più basso sotto piano e due contigui con catena a scomparsa che permette la continuità della scena intarsiata; piedi a tronco di piramide. Tutta la superficie è impiallacciata in palissandro quadripartito con candelabre intarsiate sui montanti, fascia sotto piano con riserve intarsiate con putti affrontati mentre cavalcano delfini con coda che si sviluppa a girali fogliacee. Nella riserva centrale del fronte è raffigurata la scena di Ercole che uccide il leone, con la clava appoggiata ai suoi piedi, nei fianchi due figure allegoriche , una vestale con un agnello e un anziano col bastone e la spada cinta al fianco. Interni in noce, piano in marmo sostituito. Il mobile rientra nel corpus di arredi identificati come bottega " dei fondi verdi". Le due figure dei fianchi corrispondono al secretaire pubblicato nel volume "Maggiolini & co." e analoghe corrispondenze su arredi della produzione si trovano per come è composto architettonicamente il cassettone e nelle cornici ripetute.
