Shelf Cabinet, Oxidized Ombré Stainless Steel design, Oak interior, Italy TITLE: Marea Shelf cabinet, Oxidized Ombré Stainless Steel design, Oak interior DESIGNER: Zanellato Bortotto STYLE: Modern MATERIALS: Stainless Steel, Oak DIMENSIONS: 90cm x 45cm x 155cm CONDITION: Excellent The Marea cabinet by De Castelli reflects the studio’s distinctive approach to treated metal surfaces, balancing rigorous architectural form with a highly expressive finish. The stainless steel exterior is entirely hand-finished using De Castelli’s specialized oxidation technique, producing layered tonal variations that resemble a stratified watercolor patina. Each example develops uniquely through the overlapping chemical treatments and is sealed with a transparent protective lacquer. The cabinet structure is executed in titanium-grey oak with two push-pull doors opening to three interior shelves. The contrast between the restrained geometry and fluid surface treatment gives the piece presence without excess ornamentation. Both functional storage object and sculptural statement, the cabinet works equally well in a contemporary living space, dining room, or private office.
