About the Item

A magnificent Model CM141 desk designed by Pierre Paulin for Thonet in the 1950s (specifically 1954). This desk represents one of Pierre Paulin's earliest works from the start of his collaboration with Thonet. The CM141 is an iconic piece; its clean lines and innovative 1950s design helped establish Pierre Paulin's reputation. The desk featured here is unique in that the drawer unit is positioned on the left, whereas the CM141 typically features the unit on the right. The desktop itself is finished in a beautiful black melamine. This CM141 desk is in very good vintage condition. It is free of any missing parts or damage, it remains in its original, unmodified state. However, it does show some signs of wear consistent with age and use. Most of these marks are on the black melamine desktop and are barely visible in the photographs but more visible on the video.
