About the Item

This one-off desk is proprietarily made by our own British cabinetmaking staff in the southern part of the UK. It is completely made from old/antique materials and the hand-carved cabriole legs are from a set of four old English mahogany Chippendale style legs procured from an original late 19th/early 20th century writing table having hand carved mahogany Chippendale style cabriole legs with acanthus leaf carving on the knee and terminating in ball and claw feet. We are sometimes able to get desks such as these twice a year on our semi-annual buying trip. They are made by the same cabinetmakers who make our fabulous one-off traditional pedestal partner's desks shown in listings also on this platform. Please note that the tops are adorned with hand tooled and gilt British leather hide. We have a variety of writing tables and partner's desks available in stock and also 7via custom order.
