Rare Maitland-Smith Tessellated Fossil Stone Cabinet on Wrought Iron and Brass Stand, Philippines, Circa 1980 An exceptional and highly sought-after freestanding cabinet by Maitland-Smith, handcrafted in the Philippines and showcasing the firm's renowned commitment to exotic materials and artisanal craftsmanship. The cabinet is entirely clad in natural tessellated fossil stone, meticulously hand-cut and assembled to create a richly textured mosaic surface of remarkable visual depth and complexity. Raised on an elegant hand-forged wrought iron stand with brass accents, the cabinet displays superb attention to detail throughout. The exterior's intricate fossil stone veneer is complemented by a finely finished rosewood-lined interior, fitted with quality brass hardware and retaining its original brass key engraved with the "MS" monogram. The cabinet also retains its original manufacturer's label reading: "Hand Made in Philippines – Designed by Maitland-Smith Ltd."
