About the Item

This elegant 19th century Biedermeier secretary is crafted in beautifully figured walnut veneer and showcases the refined proportions and restrained elegance characteristic of the Biedermeier period. The architectural form is complemented by striking walnut grain patterns across the facade, while the interior reveals a finely organized arrangement of small drawers and compartments centered around a mirror, creating both a functional workspace and a visually appealing interior. The drop-front writing surface opens to provide a generous writing area, making the piece both practical and decorative. The secretary stands on solid block feet and features classical columns that frame the writing compartment, emphasizing its architectural presence. When opened, the secretary has a depth of 96 cm and a comfortable writing height of 75 cm. This piece combines craftsmanship, functionality, and timeless Biedermeier design, making it an elegant addition to both classic and modern interiors. A unique piece which is a great eye-catcher for your antique, modern, space age or mid-century interior. If you have any more questions we are very happy to help and send you more details, photos, videos, a shipping quote or information. All pieces are looked after in our own restoration workshop. We also can do new upholstery cover or other special requests. Please ask.
