Differ Shelf by Lisa Brustolin Dimensions: W 66 x D 44 x H 134 cm Materials: Epoxy Resin Differ Shelf is a bookshelf featured by high contrasts, the horizontality and verticality of the lines, the transparency of the epoxy resin for the legs while pure opaque color for the shelves and of course a bold combination of colors. His appearance will vary depending on light and point of views, inviting the public to walk around it, giving the possibility to use it also in the middle of a room. Handcrafted in Rotterdam, together with resin masters, this bookshelf is yet simple in its structure and modern, it elevates the concept of the shelving as the display of our minds. Lisa Brustolin With a background both in graphic and product design, Italian-born, Rotterdam based Lisa Brustolin (1995, Italy) spent years working between graphic design, photography and art direction before having the urge to experiment with another dimension by creating some extravagant furniture that can create a personal relationship with the owners. Her practice explores ways of giving shapes to colors, obtaining different perceptions through patterns and materials in objects that can transform and change behavior depending on the user interaction. Colors, carefully selected in bold combinations and chosen to interact in specific ways, act as the main shaper of sensations. The results are graphic expressions molded into tridimensional objects, non-static and unconventional characters which enhance the surrounding space, breaking monotony of everyday common spaces.
