About the Item

A striking Mid-Century Modern style sculptural display tower étagère, designed in the iconic manner of Roger Sprunger’s Model PC76 for Dunbar Furniture. Executed with a clean, bright off-white lacquered finish, this vertical display unit features dramatic organic, biomorphic cutouts on all four sides, creating a dynamic interplay of geometry and negative space that allows decorative objects to be viewed from every angle. Built with four tiers of display, the piece incorporates glass inset shelves on the upper levels to filter light through the structure down to the solid base shelf below. Featuring the exact footprint, scale, and architectural presence of Sprunger’s celebrated 1960s design, this versatile piece functions brilliantly as a standalone corner accent or as part of a modular display. We currently have a pair of these towers available (priced individually). Positioned side-by-side, they form a grand, wide-profile architectural unit; bookended across a room or doorway, they create an exceptional framed gallery display—ideal for showcasing studio art, pottery, or vintage Murano and Italian art glass collections. The piece is in very good vintage condition, to be refinished prior to shipping. The off-white lacquered finish remains clean and presentable throughout, exhibiting only minor surface scuffs, light edge wear, and faint age-appropriate marks consistent with use. The glass shelf insets are intact with no major chips or cracks, and the overall frame is structurally sound and sturdy. Sprunger's Dunbar designs came after Edward Wormley in the late 1960s-1980s.
