About the Item

Postmodern Ebonized Ash Sideboard, Cantilevered Top, Belgium, 1980s. This long low sideboard is built from ebonized ash with a floating cantilevered top plate that projects beyond the case, giving the piece an architectural, horizontal silhouette. The composition pairs a central bank of three pale contrasting drawers with flanking double-door cabinets in dark grain, creating a graphic balance of light and shadow across the front. The recessed plinth base allows the volume to hover, reinforcing the low-slung proportions typical of 1980s postmodern design. The ebonized ash sideboard offers generous concealed storage behind the doors and within the drawers, with clean handleless fronts that keep the surface uninterrupted. The wide format makes this ebonized ash sideboard a strong media console or living room storage piece. Good vintage condition. Minor surface marks and wear consistent with age and use.
